Lit: The foundation of the “Compagnie des Bronzes de Bruxelles » dates from 1854. It is in 1862 that it installs part of its workshops rue Ransfort in Molenbeek. Originally specialized in the manufacture and placement of public lighting, it began in 1870 to cast monumental works of art and bronzes. This last activity allows the company to acquire an international reputation, some of his achievements are found in the whole world. The fabulous bronze gates of the Zoo of New York City is a good example of it. Many important Brussels monuments come out of this workshop, among other things, the cast of the statues of the “Petit Sablon”, the equestrian statues of Leopold II (Place du Trône) and Albert I (Mont des Arts), the monumental gates of “Palace of Justice” or the monument of Everard t’Serclaes at the Grand-Place
