Pair of stunning landscapes titled “Autumn” and “Morning”. Both large oils on canvasses depicting a animated riversides with woods. Signed and dated 1871.Original frames.

Size: H 82cm x W 61 cm – H 108cm x W 87 cm

Belgian school of the second part of the 19th century. Dated.

Lit: Van Luppen was born in Antwerp, he was a student at the Antwerp academy, then studied his art in Paris under T. Rousseau. He travels in Germany, Switzerland, and Italy. He wins a gold medal in Brussels in 1872.
Works in the museums of Antwerp: “Autumn”, 1873; “Landscape”, 1872; “brook in forest”, 1873. In the museum of Ghent: “landscape at Poix-Lez-St-Hubert”, in the museum of Liege “the Modave forest”.
