Clock depicting Julius Ceasar represented as antique philosopher. His fist is clamped, he holds a document in his hand, next to him a sword and an urn of parchments. Beautiful dial with enamle. The clock is entirely in gilt bronze. Clock by Denière in Paris.

French school of the Charles X era, circa 1830.
Liter.: Denière is a very important bronze maker in Paris, active from 1804 till 1890. They presented high quality bronzes at the Universal expositions and had orders in 1852 and 1854 from the Emperor ( Chateau des Tuileries ). They also had international success.
