Littr. Coosemans is known as the master of the school of Tervuren. He is also one of the founding members of “la Société Libre des Beaux-Arts” in 1868. This painting is most certainly “a preparation oil” for the large version of the Royal Fine Arts museum in Brussels painted in 1880, (177cm x 300cm ). Another similar work also representing the beautiful region of the Kempen hangs in the Belgian Senate. Works in the following museums: Brussels, Bruges, Gent, Courtrai, Liège, Tournai, Leuven, Antwerp and Dendermonde.
