Théodore Gérard, Belgian School.
Liter: Théodore Gérard is a well-known Belgian genre painter. Born in Ghent where he attends the Academy, he settles in Brussels in 1863 where he will become teacher at the Fine Arts Academy. Travels a lot and rewarded with several medals in international exhibitions in Philadelphia (1870), London (1871), Vienna (1873) and Brussels (1875). He dies in Melle in 1902, little Flemish city that in 2002 organized an exhibition for the 100-year anniversary of his death. Works in the museums of Antwerp, Ghent, Brussels, Courtrai.
