The square bases are decorated with acanthus leaves, and the fixed lids are topped with stylized pomegranates. Handles shaped like seated putti, pouring a bunch of grapes into a cup, above garlands of vine leaves and fruit that encircle the body. Beautiful contrast between the original gilding and the soft tone of the onyx, lending harmony and nobility to the ensemble. Very fine condition. Rare on the art market.
Size: H 58 cm – base 17cm x 17 cm
