Lovely young elephant walking. White base. Beautiful grey color on the animal. Again, very life-like attitude. Modelled in 1903 by Heinrich Hähnel (1823-1909) in the Meissen manufactory. Great condition.

Size: H 11,5 cm – the base is W 12 cm x 6 cm

Lit : Heinrich Julius Hähnel (or spelled Haenel) is a German sculptor, born in Schmiedeberg in 1823. He is the brother of Ernst Julius, also modeler at the manufactory. Student at the academy in Dresden, pupil of Ernst Rietschel, teacher at the Applied Arts school of Dresden after 1848. The Meissen manufactory acquired his animal model “Young elephant” in 1903.
