Beautiful pair of large French faïence painted round plaques adorned with scenes of stags and deer families in the wild. Beautiful colors. Both signed Narcisse Vivien. Large pair with gilt mahogany frames. Very decorative.

Size: diameters of 52cm – frames H 70cm x W 70 cm

Lit: Narcisse Vivien, an animal painter who specialized in birds and taught painting at the Bernard Palissy School, was active between 1875 and 1900. He exhibited several vases decorated with flowers and birds on a platinum background at the 1878 Universal Exhibition in Paris. He also took part in the Salon des Artistes français in 1886.
