An elegant pair of ovoid vases in Paris porcelain from the Restoration period, resting on a pedestal and a square base. The body, set against a sea-green background, is adorned with a broad polychrome floral frieze comprising roses and wildflowers, framed by rich wine-coloured bands enhanced with delicate gilded ornamentation.
The side handles, which terminate in stylised lion’s heads and are embellished with acanthus leaf motifs, contribute fully to the decorative quality of the set. The entirely gilded necks and bases provide a particularly refined contrast. With their harmonious proportions, fresh colour scheme and decoration that is highly representative of Restoration taste, these vases form a decorative pair of great charm.
Size: H 39 cm – base 10 x 10 cm
Paris, circa 1830
The set is in superb condition, with well-preserved gilding and luminous polychromy.
